Its close to Leicester city centre and nearby South Wigston and Wigston, and Fosse Park is only a few minutes drive away.

South Wigston High School nearby was judged outstanding by Ofsted, while Bushloe and Abington have also been praised by inspectors.

Glen Hills Primary School, in Glen Parva, is outstanding.

So, shops and schools are covered, but what about the countryside part?

What was the best part of your holiday weekend? Was it church services? Was it family time? Was it a brunch? Was it relaxing with the Masters on TV? Was it attending the Masters?

I had a fabulous weekend with our family and friends celebrating Easter and my 40th birthday.

After a great Easter service, we went to a lovely brunch on a farm with the kids. It was very kid-friendly and low stress. I usually cook for holidays so it was nice to have a break.

Lilina loved seeing the Easter Bunny and eating the homemade Peeps. It was relaxing to sit under pecan trees and eat a meal I wouldn’t have to clean up after. Then we came home and napped to the Masters. (Golf announcers are awfully relaxing.)

What were your highlights for the weekend? Are you so bummed spring break is over?

Roberto Martinez: Finds other managers problems relaxing

Wigan boss Roberto Martinez has found watching the agony of other managers helps him relax in the heat of the Latics latest battle to beat the drop.

For the third successive season Martinez finds himself staring at relegation from the Barclays Premier League, and with the odds again heavily stacked against his team.

Two years ago Wigan finished 16th and six points above the bottom three, repeating the position in the table last season, but only after winning their last two games to keep themselves up.

On this occasion, with seven games remaining, Wigan appear to be in a four-way fight with QPR, Blackburn and Bolton to avoid the fall into the Championship, with Wolves currently cut adrift.

Although Martinez concedes to not suffering from nerves or enduring any sleepless nights right now, the Spaniard knows of only one way to ease off in the current situation.

I watch football – I know, Im quite sad, said Martinez.

But I love watching football games and seeing other managers problems on the pitch. I find its quite relaxing.

I feel that by looking at other teams problems it gives me a good feeling with my work.

In eating, sleeping and breathing football 24/7, for Martinez it means being nervous is not an option.

You havent time to feel that way, added Martinez.

I can guarantee you that if you could work 26 hours per day then you would be able to feel them.

But youve honestly no time because you are preparing for games and making sure the team is as ready as it can be for every game.

You learn from experience that you can affect many things, but not when you get too emotional about your job.

Although keeping his emotions in check, Martinez admits that just because he has been in the current situation before, that does not make it any easier.

The only way it helps is that as a group, with the players, you know what to expect, and thats a real advantage, said Martinez.

But it doesnt make it easier in accepting the situation or in how to win games.

At least at the present time, quite clearly, were the strongest we have been these past three seasons.

When I say that I mean with the mentality of the group, the togetherness we have in the dressing room, the desire to play and with the competition we have for places, which is something in the past we havent really had.

So this is a key time for the club. We must stay up to be able to take all the good things weve done well these past three seasons and carry them on into next season.

Its paramount we do that.

Although winning their last two matches, and taking 12 points from the last 21 on offer to give themselves a fighting chance, the Latics face a mountain to climb over the next three games.

First up it is Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, followed by a home game with Manchester United on Wednesday, and then a visit to Arsenal a week on Monday.

At least Wigan have a platform with back-to-back wins, with Martinez adding: You can prepare for any game on the tactical and physical side of things.

But theres nothing that can replace the mental side when it comes down to confidence and belief from good results.

Right now, mentally and psychologically we are strong, weve real belief and are very confident, and that helps with every other aspect of the game.

Were aware going to Stamford Bridge is a huge ask, and there are not many people expecting us to get anything out of the game.

So this is a real important moment for us to realise what we have to do to be as good as we can be.

Midfielder Mohammed Diame returns after a two-game absence with a groin injury, but striker Hugo Rodallega remains sidelined with a knee problem.

Good shoes. No boat. No problem.

Savvy anglers don’t always need a boat in order to get
themselves in position for catching fish. The Coulee Region’s bank
fishing opportunities can lead to hours of enjoyment and test the
fishing wits and prowess of even the most seasoned river rats.

Like me, you fishermen and women might be tempted into thinking,
“Bank fishing? Are you kidding? I’m beyond that! I have 15 fishing
rods and reels, the latest sonar technology, my library of fishing
know-how and six suitcases full of tackle.”

Honestly, I have as big and dusty a collection of fishing
paraphernalia as anybody, but I set down my gear and tried to
remember that fishing is just as simple as relaxing, casting a line
with some bait out and catching fish.

Fishing is about having fun, and maybe simplifying things once
in a while can help us remember that we all got into this sport by
fishing off the bank somewhere, flailing a Snoopy pole and bobber
as Dad patiently baited hooks and untangled lines.

Heading south down one of my favorite drives — Minnesota Hwy. 26
– I decided to check out the bank fishing at the spillway near
Reno, Minn., which is about seven miles south of Brownsville and 20
miles west and south of

La Crosse. The overall spillway structure itself is massive,
composed of an extremely long embankment of pavement, rock and
gravel jutting out across the Mississippi River backwaters.

As I walked along the embankment, the spillway suddenly and
thunderously appeared as it threw roaring water from above down
into the quiet backwaters below. For a moment, I stared in awe at
the power our scenic Mississippi River possesses. It’s not all
watercolor postcard paintings.

When fishing with children at a place like this, it is advisable
to have them wear a personal flotation device and watch them at all
times.

Fish constantly deal with current in the river, but it is not
all tiresome effort. Current can provide a feeding advantage as
minnows, bugs and crustaceans are washed down and served up
compliments of the water’s swift movements.

With this in mind, I targeted the edges of the rushing water –
areas next to heavy current where the water slowed a little and
allowed fish to rest more comfortably and feed more efficiently. I
tipped a small jig-and-fly hybrid called the Bimbo Gifford Skunk
with a wax worm, set it under a bobber and made repeated casts to
these slackwater areas.

In less than an hour, my wife and I caught and released a number
of bluegill and even a bass or two as we enjoyed the lazy summer
afternoon and panoramic landscapes of the river valley.

Fishing off the bank brought me back to my roots.

I remembered the few pieces of tackle in my little blue tackle
box and the miles of shoreline I covered over the years. For a
moment, I was a little boy standing along the water’s edge peering
into the swirling depths with wonder and excitement.

A recent dinner conversation with Jack Nicklaus at his favorite restaurant, Limoncello Italian Grill, focused on bonefishing and grandchildren – his primary interests, for the most part, these days.

His golf course design business occupies the largest share of his work time. But when he and his wife, Barbara, arent attending games and events for their 21 grandchildren, they will hop over to the Bahamas and fly fish. Nicklaus finds the stalk and the chase for an elusive bonefish enough to satisfy his competitive urge these days.

This great champion, the winner of 18 professional major golf championships, plays very little golf anymore.

Maybe eight or ten times when I want to, he said, and a dozen or so times when I have to.

For millions who know his name, that might come as a surprise, especially on what is the 25th anniversary of his sixth Masters victory in 1986.

The following day he took the time to reminisce about his last major win, which came at Augusta, when newspaper stories suggested he was washed up.

His remarkable memory, savvy with fact and recall, was evident as he talked about the 1986 Masters.

In remembering his last green jacket, Nicklaus recalled that he didnt play that well early in the week, but on Sunday his victory-in-the-making got its kickstart on the ninth green. He was preparing for a 12-foot birdie putt when a loud cheer went up behind him on the eighth green. Seve Ballesteros had eagled the hole.

Before he could address his putt, another rousing cheer went up. Tom Kite also eagled the hole.

He said something like, Lets see if we can make some noise of our own. The ball went into the cup and elicited a thunderous cheer from his followers.

The ninth hole through No. 18 were some of the best holes of his career, as he shot a 30 (65 for the day) on the back nine and saw Kite and Greg Norman fail to catch him on the final hole.

The crowd was overwhelmed by his comeback and were touched emotionally when he and his oldest son, Jackie, embraced on the 18th green.

My thoughts were that if I could get in position to win, Nicklaus said, that I knew how to win. It is nice to reminisce about such a memorable week for me, but not even I expected that I would have the final round that I had.

Some musings from Nicklaus about his life and career:

#x25BA; Distance has its advantage, but I was always more interested in being a shot-maker.

#x25BA; I always felt that if I gave an honest account with the media that they would be fair with me, and I think 99 percent of the time that is the way it has been.

#x25BA; My problem with golf equipment is that it is making golf courses obsolete. If we brought the golf ball back 10-15 percent, this would not happen.

#x25BA; I might have been a better golfer if I had been a worse father or a worse businessman.

PASS CHRISTIAN, MS (WLOX) -

Psychiatrists offer free mental health healing to oil spill victims

By Trang Pham-Bui bio | email

PASS CHRISTIAN, MS (WLOX) The atmosphere was calm and relaxing. The instructors voice seemed to soothe all the worries away.

Theres a lot of tension in your body. Were going to get some of the hot spots out, the man told the crowd at the Marsha Barbour Resource Center in Pass Christian.

It was no ordinary yoga class. It was actually a training program aimed at relieving stress and trauma after mass disasters.

New York psychiatrists Dr. Richard Brown and his wife Dr. Patricia Gerbarg are conducting the three-day workshop this week. They are training 70 mental health and medical professionals on how to use various breathing techniques to cope with the emotional and physical effects of BP oil disaster.

It calms the emotions and it also quiets the worry centers in the brain and so it is really very calming. People can do this during the day if theyre stressed or they have some anxiety, said Gerbarg. We developed this program over the course of the last 10 years. Weve been studying all different kinds of breathing techniques to try to find those that would be rapidly effective, have powerful benefits, and would be safe.

These techniques were used by the ancient Chinese, Indians, as well as Christian monks. Drs. Brown and Gerbarg have used the methods to help the survivors of9/11cope with anxiety, depression, and post traumatic stress disorders.

Probably folks down here are at risk for the same things. Much of it has to do with inhalation injuries due to inhaling hydrocarbons and things that come out of oil, said Gerbarg.

Gene Foley has witnessed the benefits of these therapeutic sessions. The former New York City fire captain helped with rescue and recovery efforts following the World Trade Center attacks. He is now a social worker.

Ive gotten into yoga. We have a firemen yoga group in Long Island believe it or not. I know that this stuff does work. So I want to be able to utilize this more in my life to deal with various stresses, said Foley.

The health care providers will now use these new skills to train others on ways to heal their minds and bodies. The program is sponsored by Mississippi Cares International. Its funded by a $100,000 BP Grant.

I thought what better way to do this then to bring down a method I absolutely knows works, unquestionable, and would not have people on meds, would not have people in years of psychotherapy, said Ellen Ratner with Mississippi Cares.

On Thursday, the psychiatrists will use their breathing techniques to help the homeless in south Mississippi.

If you were watching the womens NCAA Final Four on Sunday night, you were not having a relaxing Sunday evening, to say the least. Just when the fans thought their brackets were going according to plan with a much anticipated Stanford-UConn final, Texas Aamp;M and Notre Dame, both No. 2 seeds, knocked off those two No. 1 seeds, which made even the experts jaws drop.

GLENDALE, Ariz. The White Sox and Brent Morel will leave Camelback Ranch with plenty of relief.

The ease of mind occurred gradually after the coaching staff watched their rookie third baseman who was all but handed the starting job over Mark Teahen as early as January show signs of pressing. After an 0-for-4 performance March 10, he was 3-for-21.

I was trying a little bit too hard, Morel recalled Monday. I was in a battle. I was trying to impress them a little too much instead of relaxing and playing my game.

They told me, Dont try to do too much. We know how you are. We know how you can play and what you can do. Relax and remember that and dont do too much. That seemed to help.
